“Jesus, Interrupted”–Revisited

Jesus-interrupted Last year one of the books I reviewed for TheOOZE was Bart Ehrman's Jesus, Interrupted

It was reviewed here by other ViralBloggers connected to TheOOZE.

Ehrman has a new book coming out about theodicy, God's Problem, and I'm looking forward to reading it.

(And this post will get me a copy, so forgive me!)

  1. Ehrman is boring. God’s problem is a bore. He writes as if he is the first person to have encountered the problem with theodicy and he comes to a very shallow conclusion. (Well if it’s not God’s problem it’s one of his other books on theodicy.) My problem with all his books are that there is nothing new and he writes as if pastors and seminary professors have been keeping all this info from the folks in the pews. Not in my church. Not in the church I went to before seminary. Not in the church I grew up in (well, actually the church I grew up in has become a more conservative church than when I grew up.)
Sorry for the rant. I just think Ehrman is way over rated. Your uncle is much better (and a deeper thinker).

I would love to know your thoughts.
