I may have been the last one to hear the quote below, which Diana Butler Bass shared at our Maine UCC Fall Learning Event this weekend.

"Tradition is the living faith of the dead,
traditionalism is the dead faith of the living."

  2. I was priviledged to hear her speak at an alumni session at Seabury-Western in 2006 or 2007? And she said this then. It is very transforming and useful for congregations too. Of course, I loved her entire presentation…
