Music Cues

Yesterday contained many music cues.

On the way to church, I listened to an inspiring story about the Howard University band.

At worship, we sang "Take Me to the Water" and "Shall We Gather at the River."

On the long ride home, I heard this tribute on the radio.

/*<![CDATA[*/var so = new SWFObject(";, "phc/2009/01/17/phc_20090117_64s_player", "319", "83", "8", "#ffffff");so.addParam("quality", "high");so.addParam("menu", "false");so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");so.addVariable("name", "phc/2009/01/17/phc_20090117_64");so.addVariable("starttime", "00:15:12");so.addVariable("endtime", "00:18:15");so.write("phc/2009/01/17/phc_20090117_64s_player");/*]]>*/

And later, this brought me to tears. He lived to see the day!

  1. The player for PHC seems to be going in and out, so I’ve added a link to it. Such a day, yesterday. And another today and another tomorrow!

  2. That made me cry, too!
    BTW, the Kid will have videos on his FB page at some point and I’ll try to link to them on my page. I’m so glad he is there. He said the concert was AWESOME.

  3. Love all of these. Thank you so much for sharing them. I’ve got a separate window open of this blog so I can listen to the music AND comment. 🙂

  4. The Seeger video is gone 😦 – but HBO is rebroadcasting the concert tonight at 1 an 9:30 EST.
    In the meantime I am now enjoying listening to related YouTube songs by Seeger, Tom Paxton, and others.

  5. the seeger video keeps disappearing, but this version is playing for me.
    exactly what you said — what a joy that he lived to see this day.

  6. Thanks for posting–my family just watched this and I got all teary (again). My husband said “It sounds like Miriam on the other side of the sea” and “I feel like we got our country back.” May it be so.

I would love to know your thoughts.
