Book #27: Beginning Ministry Together

Just quickly: Beginning Ministry Together is a book I needed to read before going to Interim Ministry Network's training next month. Lots of good, practical short chapters cover useful ministry territory in a thoughtful manner, providing context not only for the interim time but for the beginning and ending of ministries. This is an Alban Institute publication and up to their usual standards, I think.

  1. Sounds interesting…How firmly grounded in the American way of being church would you say it is? Just wondering if I ought to try and get hold of a copy or whether 3 months in is already too late?

  2. I think it could be very helpful, Kathryn. They try to generalize about judicatories and polity, and I think do a pretty good job. That can be tough in the sections on the search process, because there is a lot of variation. But in terms of finding your way into a new ministry, I think it’s a great book.
