Friday Five: What’s Red and Blue and Purple All Over?

As posted by reverendmother at RevGalBlogPals:

Those of us who are in the United States have just been through quite a
topsy-turvy election. During the campaign we heard a fair amount about
red states and blue states, when in fact most of us live in some shade
of purple. And so… a lighter look at those confounding colors:

1. Favorite red food

Eggplant parmesan, by far my favorite Italian dinner, and something I never make at home. Pure Luck could tell you that I have eaten it in local and chain Italian restaurants all over the country.

2. Tell us about the bluest body of water you’ve ever seen in person.

I’m bummed about this, because other people have more interesting answers. But City By the Sea Bay does have its moments.

3. It’s movie rental time: Blue Planet, The Color Purple, or Crimson Tide?

I guess I’ll go with Crimson Tide, but I’ll have to watch it quick, because Pure Luck has forbidden Denzel movies, and he’ll be home soon, unless they’ve changed the end date of his job again…

4. What has you seeing red these days?

The people in charge of Pure Luck’s job. (Are you sensing a theme here?)

5. What or who picks you up when you’re feeling blue?

Favorite books, show tunes, ice cream, Molly and Sam–oh, and not surprisingly, having Pure Luck come home.

  1. I wondered that… it was on the northeast edge of the Quarter, either Bourbon or Dauphine almost all the way to Esplanade, if I recall. (I always found it by following the rich smell of garlic rather than ever knowing the address.) Being in the older part of the city, I’m hoping it was unharmed… StCasserole, if you find out, let me know!
