Ghoulish Friday Five

You wanna see something *really* scary?…

As posted by reverendmother at RevGalBlogPals:

1. Do you enjoy a good fright?

Not at all.

2. Scariest movie you’ve ever seen

Probably John Carpenter’s version of "The Thing."

3. Bobbing for apples: choose one and discuss:
a) Nothing scary about that! Good wholesome fun.
b) Are you *kidding* me?!? The germs, the germs!

Bleh, bleh and bleh.

4. Real-life phobia

Snakes. I really don’t like the snakes.

5. Favorite "ghost story"

On the other hand, I have enjoyed scaring the be-jeepers out of my boys when small with an enthusiastic reading of Rose Impey’s "The Flat Man."

This may suggest a double standard.

I blame the babysitter who used to chase us around the big, old house my family lived in when I was a very little girl, pretending to be a monster.

Besides, it toughened them.

And it’s a really good book.

  1. patti, my former husband had a morbid phobia about clowns. As a child, he was in the studio audience of the Bozo show, and Bozo was just as mean as Krusty the Clown on The Simpsons!

  2. Awe Songbird, you got to toughen the kids. What a great book and story.
I am that babysitter, and mother, chasing the kids around the house playing monster.
Sorry about the snakes are there any near you? And no wonder you don’t like hiking.
