As found here (and written by me, anyway):
1) What is your earliest memory of church?
I must have been in my late 2’s, no more than 3, because my little brother was a sitting-up baby the day he was sucking on a coat hanger in the Nursery at church, and a slightly older little girl thought that was a bad idea and proceeded to pull it out of his mouth, yanking part of his tonsils out, too.
2) How old were you when you first took Communion?
I almost took it by accident when I was about 8 or 9, until my friend pulled my hand back out of the bread tray. I really first took it at the first quarterly opportunity after my baptism at age 13. My first real clear memory of taking it comes on the following Maundy Thursday, sitting around a long table in the church fellowship hall, by candlelight. It was really beautiful.
4) What verse/passage nicks you uncomfortably?
Um, that would be Matthew 6:25-34 (see above); also Philippians 3:4b-14 (ditto).
5) What’s your favorite hymn or praise song?
How Firm a Foundation–I think I’ve posted the words before, but here’s the final verse, my favorite. (Please sing it after I die.)
The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.
