Magnetism

On my refrigerator there are many magnets. We bought beginner words, and later added a nature set, and then a friend sent us a set of Shakespearean words on magnets.

My children enjoyed making poetry or nonsense phrases with the word magnets. It’s old news now; they’re too grown up, as Peter Pan would say. But every now and then I notice something new, or something random, and have to smile.

This morning my eye was drawn to a little clipping about Christmas services at my church. It has been on the fridge since Christmas, 2003. For some reason I looked more closely at the words holding it to the refrigerator and found: base, wanton, perfidious, ancient. Was this random shifting, or am I being called to revolution?
